Meet the Founder
Travel Knock started with a simple truth — real travel experiences can’t be planned from behind a desk. I’m Rahul Gurjar Barala, and before I ever thought of starting a travel agency, I was just someone with a backpack and a one-way ticket. I’ve walked through the narrow lanes of old Jaipur, watched the sun set over Dal Lake in Kashmir, and slept under the stars on the beaches of Goa. Every one of those trips taught me something no brochure ever could.
What began as solo backpacking trips slowly turned into something bigger. Friends started asking me to help plan their vacations. Family members wanted my recommendations before booking anywhere. I realized I wasn’t just traveling for myself anymore — I was becoming the person people trusted to help them travel better. That trust is what eventually became Travel Knock.
The more I traveled, the more I noticed a pattern — most travel agencies sell you a fixed package, not an experience. Generic hotels, guides who’ve never actually explored the destination themselves, itineraries copy-pasted for every customer regardless of what they actually wanted. I experienced this frustration myself before I ever thought of starting my own agency.
I wanted to build something different — a travel agency run by someone who has actually been there. Someone who has felt the cold Kashmir wind at 6 AM, haggled for the best price in Jaipur’s bazaars, and gotten sunburnt while island-hopping in Goa. That’s the difference Travel Knock offers: recommendations based on real experience, not a catalog.
